CASIS is very pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 CASIS-CSIS National Essay prize.

The top graduate paper was “International Assassinations and Future Research: Insights from the Assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar”written by Aidan Kerr and Nikhil Goyal (University of Toronto).

The top undergraduate paper was “ Eyes Everywhere, Against All Enemies: Analyzing Non-Governmental Open-Source Intelligence in the Russo-Ukrainian War”written by Anna Lysenko (University of Toronto).

The winners will present their papers at the CASIS annual symposium in Ottawa on November 1, 2024. Congratulations to Aidan, Nikhil, and Anna!

We would also like to congratulate the runners up, Andrew Bresnahan (King’s College London) and Shane Joy (University of Toronto), and thank all other candidates for participating. We look forward to announcing the details of the 2025 CASIS-CSIS National Essay Prize in the near future.
